Google Ads Gains Two New Roles in Lean Marketing Operations

Key takeaway: Google Ads powered Liinks’ recent growth and is now integrated into Picsart’s Marketing Studio for creative testing and campaign launch.

Key Takeaway

Two recent reports describe different but related uses of Google Ads in lean advertising operations. BigGo Finance reported that Liinks founder Charlie Clark said the link-in-bio business generates about $31,500 in monthly recurring revenue and has relied on Google search ads as its main growth engine for roughly four years. Morningstar, carrying a Business Wire release, reported that Picsart has launched Marketing Studio, which integrates Google Ads with content creation, creative testing and campaign management.

How Liinks used Google search ads

Liinks first used Instagram advertising, but Clark said changes to Instagram’s algorithms around 2021 or 2022 made that channel uneconomic. He then moved to Google search ads because people searching for a link-in-bio tool or page builder showed clearer purchase intent. The report describes spending of about $100 per day and identifies Google as the business’s largest recurring expense. It does not provide a complete account of conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, margins or campaign structure, so the case does not establish that the same approach will work for every small software business.

The Liinks example also connects advertising operations with pricing. Clark said raising the entry plan from $4 to $5 per month added nearly $5,000 in MRR across a large base of small subscribers. The business also offers a professional plan starting at $12 per month, with custom domains and multiple pages, and higher-priced arrangements for customers managing many pages. These details describe one operator’s model; they are not evidence of a general SEO ranking gain or a universal Google Ads return on investment.

What Picsart adds to the Google Ads workflow

Picsart’s Marketing Studio is aimed primarily at small-business owners, solopreneurs, agencies and performance marketers. According to the release, it brings content production, advertising strategy, creative testing and paid distribution into one guided experience. Users can create image and video variations with Picsart’s tools, test concepts and videos using insights and predictive technology from Zappi, and create and launch Google Ads campaigns directly within Picsart.

The product includes three named AI agents: Pax for Google Ads management, Draper for advertising strategy, and Slava for performance marketing and campaign management. The release also says that plain-language performance insights can inform the next round of creative work. Its cited Zappi validation found that the model identified stronger creative across key metrics 86% to 93% of the time in tests involving hundreds of ads evaluated by real consumers. That result is bounded by the stated validation setting and does not predict performance for every industry, audience or budget. The release says Marketing Studio is available, but the materials do not specify regional eligibility, account requirements or Google Ads fee arrangements.

Method and Limitations

An advertising team evaluating either approach should verify search terms, bids, spend and conversions in its Google Ads account; document the audience, sample and scoring method used for creative tests; and confirm what permissions and reporting links exist between Picsart and Google Ads. Liinks’ revenue, spending and channel history should be treated as figures and statements attributed to its founder rather than as independently audited results. The two reports do not provide comparable SEO rankings, organic search traffic, conversion rates or a shared return-on-ad-spend measure. They also do not show that Picsart’s integration automatically improves campaign performance.
