Meta Announces an Enterprise AI Platform

Meta announced Meta Enterprise Platform on September 28, 2026, and named Chirantan “CJ” Desai to lead the new enterprise AI business. Desai will report directly to Mark Zuckerberg. The company plans to offer businesses and developers products built on its models, agents and infrastructure, beginning with a portfolio that includes Muse and related tools.

Zuckerberg presented the platform as another major part of Meta's business. He said the initial focus would be Meta's full technology stack, including Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code. The tools span the company's planned offering to businesses and developers, although Meta did not specify whether customers would buy them together or as separate services. It also did not give a product-by-product availability timetable.

Zuckerberg said Meta would draw on its models, agents, infrastructure and relationships with businesses to develop the platform. He cited the scale of the company's consumer services and the businesses that use them to reach customers. Meta intends to extend those business relationships into AI products that companies can deploy in their own operations.

Desai's appointment is the most specific organizational step. He joins Meta as chief enterprise platform officer after serving as chief executive and president of MongoDB. Meta's account of his background also includes leadership of product and engineering at Cloudflare and nearly eight years at ServiceNow, where his roles included president and chief operating officer. In his new role, he will report directly to Zuckerberg.

In his accompanying statement, Desai described his task as turning Meta's AI technology into deployable products and services. He said AI could change how organizations develop new offerings, serve customers and run their businesses over the coming years. He also said Meta had incorporated privacy and security into its enterprise products from the outset. The announcement did not detail the controls available in each service, including how customers would manage data access and permissions.

The announcement did not include the platform's pricing, purchasing terms or deployment requirements. Availability and service specifications for the individual products are also pending.
